A Couple Of Cards For Men

Like a lot of people I find cards for men difficult and I'm never happy with the results, I had a couple of cards to make quickly so I used a couple of Gecko Galz images.

I dry brushed some white gesso onto a couple of kraft cards then I stamped some images with Seth Apter background stamps. I added some tissue tape, hessian and the Gecko Galz image to the one with the car and added some denim, Impression Obsession die cut seagulls and the Gecko Galz image to the one with the ship.

I hope you're all having a lovely day and thank you for taking the time to visit. xxx Hazel.

SPA - Secret Garden

Hi everyone, today I'm sharing the postcard that I've made for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge, the theme is Secret Garden.

I glued a piece of napkin to my postcard and added a Tim Holtz paper doll - I added a bit of colour to the image. I took a photo of the card and put it onto my computer so that I could finish it digitally. I used Serif Craft Artist and images from a couple of digi kits. The quote from one of my favourite books the Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

This is the card before I put it on my computer.

Thank you for visiting, have a lovely Sunday. xxx Hazel.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everybody, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

It's been over a month since I posted on my blog although I've posted on my digital blog. I've not done very much crafting, my mojo left me a while ago and I'm still waiting for it to come back, as I've no art work to show you I thought I'd show you the Christmas elf that I knitted although he wasn't finished until New Years Eve.

I still have some yarn left so I might make him a friend for next Christmas.

Thank you for dropping by, I really appreciate it. xxx Hazel.

Christmas Coasters

Good morning everybody - I can't believe that it's December already, the year has flown by and the weather has turned very wintry - it's bitterly cold and we had our first snow yesterday.

Today I'm sharing with you some Christmas coasters that I've made for the Altered Eclectics design team. As always the challenge is Anything Goes as long as its Mixed Media or Altered Art - cards are not accepted.

I used beer mat blanks for the coasters.

I was going to paint the mats but decided to cover them with some gelli prints instead.

For the toppers I used a brayer with acrylic paint to colour some card, I also stencilled some stars with Imagination Craft Starlight paint. I stamped the images with black Archival ink.

I stamped the images onto white copy paper, coloured them with pitt pens and cut them out.

I glued the toppers to the mats.

Then I glued the cut out images onto the images on the mats.

The last thing I did was to give the mats a few coats of Decoart polyurethane varnish.

I enjoyed making the mats and will be making more.

Stamps used:
Artemeo - holly.
Inca Stamps - poinsettia.
Paperartsy/Zinski - Rudolf

Thank you dropping by, why not pop over to Altered Eclectics to take a look at the wonderful inspirational pieces that the rest of the DT have made.
